Belt Academy

ContiTech Conveyor Belt Systems in Russia

Belt Academy

The "Belt Academy" training program is part of the ContiTech initiative to establish a center of competence in continuous conveyor system engineering in the Russian Federation. The objective is to share practical knowledge, learn new skills, and enhance specialist expertise.

It is intended to form part of the specialist training received by the employees of our customers in the fields of mining and underground operations. These practical seminars will help miners to enhance their knowledge and skills which, in turn, will help them to work more effectively and safely.

BASICS

Seminar block no. 1 The seminar will provide participants with a basic knowledge of textile and steel cable conveyor belts. Basic technical concepts will be explained. Design, manufacture, and use will also be covered.

BELTCON

Seminar block no. 2 This seminar will explain the basics of selecting conveyor belt qualities and their physical properties. Important elements and factors in the calculation and design of conveyor belts will be discussed. Calculations will be made on the basis of practical data using the BELTCON calculation program.

Q-FACTOR

Seminar block no. 3 This seminar will provide participants with a basic knowledge of the international standards applicable to the production and use of conveyor belts. Participants will familiarize themselves with important parameters and technologies used to test and assess belt quality.

MINING CALCULATOR

Seminar block no. 4 Following the introduction to (surface) mining and transport equipment, participants will be presented with questions on how to extract solid rock and loose rock and how to transport it in surface mining operations.

MONITOR

Seminar block no. 5 This seminar covers the challenges and problems involved in repairing conveyor belts. Solutions for replacing manual processes with electronic mining systems will be presented.
